This page explains how your personal data is used for booking enquiries and stays at Studio vue mer in Propriano, whether you book directly, through Airbnb or through Booking.com.
Jérôme Barre is the data controller.
Address: 7B Chemin des Plages, 20110 Propriano, France.
For questions or requests about your data: proprianostudio@gmail.com.
Depending on your booking and the services used:
your first and last names, postal address and country of residence, email address and phone number;
stay dates, numbers of adults, children and infants, booking platform and booking reference;
amounts, payments, invoices and information needed to manage the security deposit;
the agreement, correspondence needed for the booking and, for electronic signatures, the necessary evidence of signature;
optional information you provide to organise your welcome, such as your arrival time and bedding preferences.
This information comes from you and, when you book through them, from Airbnb or Booking.com. We may already have contact details supplied by the platform; relay email addresses are not necessarily your personal addresses.
When a stay preparation form is prefilled, you can check the details and complete missing information. Necessary fields are marked; optional arrival details may be left blank. If necessary information is missing, we will contact you to find an appropriate solution; this does not automatically cancel your booking.
Please do not enter sensitive information, including medical information, in free-text fields. A personalised link giving access to your stay details must be kept confidential.
Answering your enquiry, managing the booking, preparing the agreement, organising check-in and tracking payments or the deposit: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract and performance of the contract.
Meeting applicable accounting, tax and statutory retention duties: legal obligation.
Keeping necessary evidence and handling complaints or disputes: legitimate interest in establishing and defending our rights.
Protecting the tools and detecting unusual access: legitimate interest in safeguarding the data and service.
Preparing aggregated activity statistics: legitimate interest in monitoring occupancy, visitor patterns and rental results, with data minimisation and anonymisation before long-term retention.
A privacy notice is not a request for your consent to all these processing activities.
Jérôme Barre uses your data to manage the rental. Irène, who handles check-in, property care, cleaning and linen, receives only information relevant to her work: for example your name, phone number, stay dates and times, guest numbers and bedding needs. Her access is limited to the duration of her assignment; this role does not give her access to the contract or tax archives.
Depending on the process used, the following services are involved:
Google, for forms and management tools, email and document storage;
Youtrust, formerly Yousign, for electronic signatures when you use that signing method;
Swikly, for the security deposit when provided for your booking;
Airbnb or Booking.com, for bookings and correspondence on the relevant platform.
Strictly necessary information may be shared with authorised professionals handling accounting or the defence of our rights, and with authorities where required by law. Platforms and certain providers also process information for their own purposes under their privacy policies.
We distinguish day-to-day management tools from private archives needed as evidence or to meet legal obligations. The periods below define the adopted policy. Work to bring historical records and backups into line is ongoing; no general automated deletion process is currently active. You may contact us about the status of your own records.
Practical arrival details: up to 3 months after departure.
Day-to-day copies of contact details and identifiable booking records: up to 6 months after departure, once the matter is closed. Necessary data within an agreement, invoice or supporting document follows that document’s retention period; it is not thereby kept in check-in tools.
Ordinary agreements and contractual evidence: restricted archiving, generally for 5 years after the end of the stay, subject to any specific applicable periods.
Contracts concluded electronically with a consumer, worth at least €120, where Article L213-1 of the French Consumer Code applies: retained from conclusion and for 10 years after the stay has been performed, together with the elements essential to their integrity and retrieval.
Invoices and accounting records subject to the relevant obligation: 10 years from the end of the relevant financial year.
Documents needed solely for tax purposes: 6 years from the starting point applicable to the document or register. Where a record is also an accounting document, the longer applicable period applies; some property or depreciation records may remain necessary longer.
Security logs under our control: a rolling 6 months, without copying form contents into them.
If a booking is cancelled without a stay, the practical 3- and 6-month periods run from closure of the cancellation and settlement of amounts and the deposit. Supporting documents follow their own periods. For disputes, unpaid amounts or official checks, only the necessary material is retained for the proceedings and applicable periods; its necessity is reviewed.
A maximum 90-day rotation is planned for recovery backups under our control; implementation and verification are part of the ongoing work to bring records into line. These copies are intended for technical recovery, not as a permanent history. Statutory archives are not recovery backups. Providers’ own technical retention also depends on their terms.
Statistics are retained long term as anonymous data only after aggregation and assessment of reidentification risks. The country used is the booking holder’s declared country of residence, not a nationality inferred from a phone number. Small groups are combined further or some details are not retained.
Some services, including Google and booking platforms, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Safeguards depend on the service and transfer, including adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Google’s transfer information explains the mechanisms it uses and how to obtain the relevant clauses.
You may ask Jérôme Barre for details about recipients and safeguards applicable to your booking. For processing they carry out under their own responsibility, see also the information provided by Google, Youtrust, Swikly, Airbnb or Booking.com, as applicable.
You may request access to your data and its correction. Under the conditions set out in the GDPR, you may also request erasure, restriction of processing or portability of data processed automatically on a contractual basis. You may object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise your rights, write to proprianostudio@gmail.com or to the postal address above. Identity documents are not routinely requested; if reasonable doubt remains, we will ask only for information necessary to verify identity.
We normally respond within one month. If the complexity or number of requests justifies an extension of two months, we will notify you within the first month. An erasure request does not allow the deletion of a record that must still be retained by law; its use may instead be restricted.
You may complain to the CNIL, or to a competent supervisory authority, in particular in your country of residence.
